un:send Festival takes place on the traditional lands of the Taungurung People. We acknowledge their enduring custodianship, and recognise First Nations people as the first artists, scientists, and architects of this land.
We’re exploring new approaches to what a festival can be. un:send isn’t just a party, it’s a community of artists working together to imagine and build space for collective expression amongst our scene. An extension of what already exists - a celebration of all the talent found locally and abroad.
Our festival vision is built on philosophies of collaboration and care. It’s a jigsaw-puzzle-like collection of inspirations & ideas we’ve collected along the way, on our respective journeys and experiences in the music scene as ravers, music-lovers, crew & artists alike.
We are a fully independent, community built festival; soundtracked by a thoughtful curation of musicians; fed by a hard-working community of foodies; conceptualised & designed by a passionate & creative team of artists; built by a mighty group of builders; and given a beating heart by a diverse body of like-minded, conscious & fun loving dancers & attendees - you.
In its tangible form, the festival is an intimate, three day & night, two stage music & arts festival nestled amongst gum trees, the sun and the stars, one and a half hours from Naarm/Melbourne CBD. In its un:seen form, un:send festival is a space where delicate, otherworldly experiences will unfold. We invite you, at un:send, not just to look, but to sense, to feel, and to discover.
General Release tickets on sale now
General Release tickets will be available until the allocation is exhausted. This is the final allocation of tickets, so when these run out, the festival will be sold out. Tickets may be purchased in full, or there is a ‘pay over time’ option which will allow you to spread your purchase over weekly payments. There are 1000 tickets in total, available to the general public for this edition.
Music Programme
Our music program has now been announced in full. You can find all the artists on the artists page. Artists will perform across two stages over three days and nights sharing with us a full breadth of thought and sound.
Food Programme
The un:send community kitchen is something we’re very proud of. A purpose built pop-up kitchen will be the stage for a selection of gifted local chefs. Each of them will have a moment during the festival to serve us something special. Be sure to look out for the upcoming Community Kitchen programme to know when to grab each delicious dish.
Supporting our guest chefs will be an outfit of food, drink and coffee stalls to keep you sustained and refreshed across the duration of the festival. Full line up to come.
Payments
All payments at un:send will be via card, all vendors will be cashless. This helps us to keep things smooth across all types of transactions. Please prepare ahead of time.
Camping
un:send is a camping festival, bring your camping set ups as there will not be other accommodation available on the site.
Our camp area will be for tents and shelters only, and all cars will be parked a short distance away from the camp area. This is to ensure the safest use of the site layout for all on site. A small portion of the camp area will have tree cover, whilst most of it will be open grass. Camping areas will be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.
As it will be the middle of summer, it is likely that sun strength will be very high during the days, so appropriate sun shelters shared amongst friends are encouraged. Please be respectful with how much space you take up in the camping area.
There will be a small, separate area for car camping, with limited spots, for those who wish to sleep with their cars.
Transport to the Festival
un:send will take place roughly an hour and a half north of Melbourne CBD. Patrons may drive to the festival, or travel on the shuttle bus service which departs from Princes Park, Carlton North.
Those wishing to drive to the festival must purchase one car pass for each car.
Those wishing to camp with their cars must purchase one car camping pass for each car. Cars with a car camping pass do not need an additional car pass.
We have priced these passes by taking into consideration the usable areas of the site for each use-case, and to account for the footprint of cars amongst all our festival-goers. These passes also help us to properly plan ahead for the best flow of humans across the festival period.
Those wishing to take our bus shuttle service can purchase bus tickets for each leg of the journey e.g. one ticket is for Parkville to un:send, another ticket is for un:send to Parkville. We encourage bus travel as the safest and easiest way to get to and from un:send. Check out the ticketing portal for available departure times.
Car passes, car camping passes, and bus tickets may be purchased through the ticketing portal.
BYO + Bar
You may bring up to one slab of beer or seltzer and one bottle of spirits per person, no glass is allowed on site so please bring tins or decant into plastic containers.
There will be a bar on site serving ice cold drinks if you fancy something different.
Health and Safety
un:send will operate in cooperation with a full time medical team, supported by a welfare team as well as our calm and collected safety angels who will be roaming around at all times. Safety angels will be easy to spot, feel free to chat with them at any time, even just to say hello. Our team will be available to assist in any way possible, we’d love to hear from you.
A friendly security team will be available to us at all times and will be called on only when necessary.
Amenities
The stage, food and drink areas will have shaded areas. There will be further shaded areas scattered across the site. Whilst there is a small portion of campground amongst the trees, most of it will be on open grass. Please plan accordingly as the midday heat can get very strong.
Toilets will be a mix of fixed infrastructure and portaloos scattered throughout the site. Drinking water stations will be available both near the stage areas and in the camp grounds.
There is a swimmable dam on site which will operate pending enough rainfall before the festival. You may enter at your own risk, drowning is possible at any level of water. Please follow the lifeguard’s instructions at all times.
Applications
The applications portal on the un:send website is now live. Here, you will be able to submit your applications to contribute to the festival.
Art - Expressions of Interest
Submit your idea to exhibit your art at un:send this year. We are open to many different types of work which look to interpret the theme of un:seen. Please take a look at the application form to gain a better understanding of the submissions process.
Workshops
If you have ideas for workshops you'd like to conduct during the festival, helping people make, do and learn, we'd love to hear about it.
Volunteering
We couldn’t put this together without the help of our beautiful volunteers. Volunteering for the festival will encompass a broad range of work with scope for leadership roles, occurring during the festival as well as pre-festival or post-festival. Most roles will require 2 x 4-hour shifts in return for festival entry. Please take a look at the application form for a better understanding.
First Nations Tickets
We will be gathering on Taungurung Country which has been innately connected with and nurtured by the Taungurung People for tens of thousands of years. We acknowledge sovereignty was never ceded and the colonial project across this country continues to severely and detrimentally affect First Nations people. We offer free tickets to First Nations people, please email us at hello@unsend.world to get this organised.
Accessibility Information
The un:send site will consist of mostly grassy plains or gravel ground with small hills throughout. Some parts of the ground will be uneven surfaces and rainfall can cause soft patches or mud. Most of the walkways between different areas of the site are hard-packed. These will also be lit along their lengths. The majority of the stage viewing areas will be on level ground whilst some of it, further away from the stage, will be elevated and on slopes.
If you’re in need of special assistance, our team can help you when you arrive and assist with a smooth entry and set-up process. Please contact us at hello@unsend.world to give us a heads up, and feel free to ask us at any point from when you arrive.
An accessible toilet will be available for use, please ask us about this when you arrive so that we can let you know its location as soon as you arrive.
Refunds and Resales
Tickets to un:send are non-refundable. The reality of running an independent, small-scale festival means that it is impossible for us to provide refunds for tickets. Once tickets are sold-out, we will enable a ticket resale service through Humanitix where you may sell your ticket to those still on the hunt. You can list your tickets for resale (once available) by clicking the “Manage Order” button in your order confirmation email.
Social Media
un:send will not use any form of social media. Every communication from us will be via email, so subscribing to our email list here is very important so that you get all the information that you need. We also have a telegram channel where we share important updates, direct announcements and fun bits in the lead up to the festival.
