Kasun, DJ, record label boss and party don has been a quiet cornerstone of Naarm dance music for almost a decade; never drawing attention to himself, instead letting his impeccable taste and community spirit do the talking.

The Temporal Cast head honcho and local South Asian tekk pioneer is fundamentals-first in everything he touches. As a DJ, his level of control behind the tools is impeccable, he moves through analogue techno, tripping electro, warbling acid lines, and bubbling bass with impeccably tidy mixing and confident cuts, and a masterful control of groove. Nothing is out of place, everything feels precisely and cohesively arranged, with a careful control of tension and release and poised jumps from genre 2 genre before anything gets tiresome.

Kasun has a particular strength in uniting a dancefloor, with a keen ear for tunes that are equal parts clever, horny, functional, tough, and sexy. He’s running hot on a string of recent standout sets, across a string of recent European club shows, at legendary local parties Absorb(ed) and Pleasure Planet, and as one of the co-engineers of un:send.
